松山 みくに (read as Matsuyama Mikuni) is a wizard who hails from the Hakodate-shi region located on the island of Hokkaido, in northern Japan. Having grown up knowing magic all his life, he is no stranger to all the unusual spirits that are prevalent in the Japanese Wizarding World-- oni (demons), yuki-onna (snow spirits) and youkai (supernatural beings) are regular visitors to their sprawling mansion.
Having spent most of his late childhood and teenage years on the mainland island of Honshu studying at Tokyo Mahora Gakuen upon where he graduated at the age of 18, he then furthered his study by exploring different magical fields and working hand-in-hand with the Japanese Ministry of Magic, though he also dabbled in spiritual relations-- since the spiritual power around the Japanese Wizarding World is highly charged, most of the clientele he has dealt with aren't exactly human by any normal sense of the word.
After spending four years working with the Japanese Ministry, he decided to go abroad and study other kinds and fields of magic; since Eastern and Western magical studies are the same, yet at the same time are extremely different. He has spent much of his time traversing through the European magical societies before coming to England and making contact with the British Wizarding society. There, he'd met an old friend whom he'd helped out while they were back in Japan, and was informed about the opening of a teaching post in Hogwarts.
He enjoys indulging in tea ceremonies and makes onigiri (rice balls with filling) in his spare time; he also indulges in reading different texts and scrolls on varied fields of magical, as well as Muggle, history.
