Seven-Rune Layout
- Select five Runes and lay them out as shown in the picture
- Turn them over in the order indicated
- The interpretation is as follows:
- The first 2 Runes drawn represent the "problem"
- The next 2 Runes drawn represents the factors that have contributed to the problem and how they have led up to the present
- The next 2 Runes are the most important; meaning this is the "advice" that has been given to you. Take great care in interpreting these particular Runes; as you may get results that you were not expecting!
- The final Rune is the result. Do remember to take the results with an open mind and not too literally!
The Norse Realms
In this case, we'll be using all 24 Runes in order to interpret the following. Make sure that the Runes are in a suitable container, invoke the three Norns and then cast the Runes on the cloth. Ignore the Runes that fall outside of the cloth; only the ones within will matter in the reading. As for definitions of the "realms", here's what they mean:
- Asgard - The realm of the Gods. Anything that falls here will denote spiritual ambitions.
- Vanaheim - The realm of feelings. Any Runes that land here denote, well, feelings, as well as prosperity.
- Lightalfheim - The realm of the light alfar. Any Runes that land here denote creativity and its connection to mental activities.
- Muspelheim - The realm of fire. Any Runes that land here denote intuition
- Nifelheim - The realm of mists and the dark side of the conscious. Any Runes that land here will denote your... darker side.
- Midgard - The realm of humanity. Any Runes that fall here will denote the "self", your ego.
- Swartalfheim - The realm of the Inner Earth. Any Runes that fall here will denote transformation, as well as sensations.
- Jotunheim - The realm of the male aspect of the psyche.
- Hel - The realm of Hella, Goddess of death. This realm is associated with the female aspect of the psyche.
